Luma2solator

This installation is infamous by now and whoever hasn't recognised its genius should do so. Lumasol is the overall name for all photographic light recordings, the Luma2solator is of course more than just that. It is an installation which enables members of the audience to make light paintings and light graffiti themselves and thus contribute to the installation. The audience becomes artist and subject. Fuck PIPS:lab, you're the artist.

The Luma2solator uses a revolutionary technique, invented and developed by PIPS:lab, which is a real time equivalent of the photographic principle of an open shutter: one can see what one is doing.? ??The Luma2solator has an on-board flash, which captures the artist within his light painting. The installation shows all the works of arts when they are not in use.

The real-time and live-interaction aspects of the Luma2solator are what make it so revolutionary. It's predecessor, the Lumasolator, works with a digital photo camera, and shows real time feedback. Only after the recording process, the work is revealed to the user.

Besides the real time feature, the Luma2solator is enhanced with an 'animation' and 'beat' modus which invite and guide the user in the process of making four images, which are shown in a rhythmical sequence after recording.
