The Washing Powder Conspiracy

Multi Media theatrical concert,
2005-2007

The Washing Powder Conspiracy is PIPS:lab's first grand multi-media theatrical concert. The emphasis lies on live music - which miraculously comes out of flat irons, old washing machines and laundry baskets. A variety of songs connected to the overall theme: washing powder, as well as visuals and absurd scenes are created live. Of course, earlier recorded video material makes a reshuffled, mixed, pulled out of context and musically conductible come-back later in the show. Meanwhile, PIPS:lab casually flirts with themes like democracy, capitalism, commercials and war.

In the Washing Powder Conspiracy PIPS:lab conquer their ultimate challenge: to edit their video material live in such a way that they gain the same freedom as musicians on a stage. The Washing Powder Conspiracy is a well stirred melting pot of music, technology and drama - and that's quite an achievement in theatre land.
